How to take the grips of Honte and Gyakute
Taking Honte. Place the hands on either side of the jo, and take the correct positions of the hand (as shown in the below picture). Note the angle of the jo in relation to the palms, and the angle of the wrist (bent).


And for Gyakute, place the hands as shown below... straight accross the palm and the wrist is also straight.
